The Root Cause is an American Acoustic Rock group from Chicago that formed organically by players drawn together from jazz, blues and rock backgrounds, by their love of the craft, combining enough music experience and credits to fill 4 bands, and fronted by Chicago music veteran and award winning vocalist Max Riske. In this project they turn their talents towards creating progressive yet accessible arrangements, rocking catchy hooks and brilliant jam moments. This EP takes what can often be a sleepy genre and bends it into new territory and is a perfectly timed sonic fit for the latest popular music to hit the air in recent months. From Indie to Top 40, from Alt-country to Southern Rock, from Roots to Americana, the newest group of songs from The Root Cause has cross-over and mass appeal written all over it. Think Iron & Wine, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, Monsters of Folk, Bruce Springsteen, My Morning Jacket, Nick Drake, James Reyne, Dave Matthews Band… and the list goes on.
With the band providing cinematic builds and Riske’s vocals belting out undeniably honest and relatable story telling told through sing-along lyrics, the listener can’t help being instantly transported into The Root Cause’s world.

With wide appeal and songs you'll turn into your own personal soundtrack, this EP has something to offer everyone.
